Karlyn's Jelly Cookies

1 cup margarine

1/4 cup sugar

1 teaspoon almond extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups flour

2 1/8 lb jar seedless jam

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cream margarine & sugar. Blend in almond extract & salt. Add flour & mix well.

Shape tablespoons of dough into balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Indent center of each cookie and fill with jam.

Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until cookies begin to brown. Makes 13 dozen cookies

These cookies are delicious and simple to make. Karlyn always includes them on her holiday cookie tray much to the family's delight!
