Virginia Primrose's Sweetheart Cookies
Ingredients needed:
salt free shortening, sugar, egg yolk, flour, currant jelly, powdered
sugar
Cream 3/4 cup salt free shortening, gradually add 1/2 cup sugar and the
yolk of one egg. Add 1/2 cup flour and knead. Chill dough overnight. Next
morning warm dough for at least 3 hours. Form into tiny balls and poke hole
into center, Fill with currant jelly, and place in ungreased cookie sheet.
When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for about 12
minutes, or until light brown.
