Crab Au Gratin

4 tbsp. Butter
2 tbsp. Flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 cup half and half
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup white wine
2 1/2 cups fresh crab meat

 

Melt butter, add flour, salt and pepper. Stir to make a paste.
Add milk and wine and cook until it thickens, stirring constantly.
Grease 2 quart casserole, pour a little sauce in the bottom.
Add a layer of crab, sprinkle with cheese. Repeat layers and end
with a layer of cheese. Cover with buttered bread crumbs.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Let sit 5 minutes before serving.
