TANTE MARLENE'S THREE BEAN SALAD

Marinade:

  • 3/4 cup white distilled vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • salt & pepper to taste

Add:

  • 2 (15 1/2 oz.) cans cut green beans
  • 1 (20 oz.) can red kidney beans
  • 1 (15 1/2 oz) can cut wax beans
  • 1 large onion, sliced finely

Drain liquid from beans and rinse in colander until water runs clear, add to remaining ingredients, mix well, let stand covered in refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Optional:

2 tbsp. of salad oil added just before serving, mixing well.
